You know you’ve made it as a food blogger when you’re mailed a product and asked to do a review on your blog!
And I’ll admit, because I believe it’s possible to eat all of the protein you need from eating only plants, I generally don’t endorse protein powders.
BUT . . .
When I received my sample of Nature’s Food Organic Protein, I was impressed by its ingredient list and the fact that it’s 100% vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and lactose-free. It’s also free of preservatives, cholesterol, and artificial flavors and sweeteners. The main reason I like this product, however, is the fact that it contains Bacillus coagulans, which is a beneficial probiotic (good bacteria). Probiotics help boost your immune system and aid in digestion by improving gut health, and should be part of everyone’s diet!
As an added bonus, this protein powder contains organic alfalfa extract, spinach leaf powder, flax leaf powder, and papain, which is a natural enzyme found in papayas that helps with protein digestion.
One scoop contains roughly one third of your daily protein requirement (18 grams), only 100 calories, and less than one gram of sugar. If you’re on a plant-based diet and are working out a lot, you can get a protein boost by adding a scoop to water, nondairy milk, smoothies, etc. and drinking it after a hard workout.
OR . . .
You can cool off by making these super-easy and nutritious “fudgesicles” by blending bananas, cocoa, chocolate Nature’s Food organic protein powder, almond butter, and nondairy milk and freezing them in popsicle molds.
These are perfect post-workout snacks because they are free of refined sugars, replenish glycogen with natural banana sugars, and help with muscle repair thanks to the extra boost of protein! They’re also great for satisfying dessert cravings, and the added protein helps you stay full longer.
Also, they’re creamy, chocolatey, and so delicious!
- 2 ripe bananas, peeled
- 1 scoop chocolate Nature's Food Organic Protein
- 1 t. vanilla
- 2-3 t. cocoa
- Pinch sea salt
- 2 T. almond butter
- ½ cup nondairy milk

- Pour into popsicle molds and freeze a few hours until solid.
- Keep in the freezer until ready to eat. Enjoy!
These fudgesicles are so easy to blend, pour, freeze, and keep on hand. With the extra organic protein and probiotics from the Nature’s Food protein powder, these fudgesicles make the perfect post-workout snack or summer dessert. Kids love them too!
What are some other ways you like to add protein powder to your diet?
